About Tim Woinarski
As a Councillor
Since 2011, I have been an elected Councillor on the West Tamar Council. This is a position I am honoured to hold and have worked tirelessly to ensure that the needs and concerns of the community are heard and addressed. As an elected member of the Council I believe I represent the community of the West Tamar with enthusiasm, I listen and respond to concerns raised with me and I am integral member of the council decision making team.
I am a member of both the Tourism Development Unit and the Recreation Development Unit.
I grew up in the Tamar Valley. My family moved here when I was four and I lived in the region for over 18 years. I attended primary school, senior school and university in the region.
My mother, Dr. Sue Woinarski, was the local Riverside veterinary surgeon for over 30 years.
In 1993 I moved to Victoria and spent 8 years working in Melbourne. Following the birth of our first daughter my wife and I decided that we wanted to return to Tasmania to raise our children. We returned to Tasmania in 2001 and were fortunate to purchase the Grindelwald Kennels and Cattery (then know as Dog and Cat Care).
We have been back home for over 13 years and still believe that the Tamar Valley is one of the most beautiful places to live and raise our family.
