Councillor for the West Tamar

Exeter “Meet and Greet”

On Friday 10th February I had the pleasure of attending the Exeter “Meet and Greet”, an event put on by the Exeter Show Society to encourage community connections within the West Tamar. All funds raised from the evening go towards assisting the Show Society run the Exeter Show.

It was a great evening and I had the opportunity to catch up with many people who I don’t normally get to see and talk with them about happenings in the West Tamar. Special guests for the evening included Premier Will Hodgman who spoke about how events such as this highlighted the importance of community in Tasmania and Rosevears Hotel developer, Allan Virieux who spoke about his wonderful hotel development which had been officially opened earlier that day. Entertainment was provided by the tattooed tenor himself, Mathew Garwood.

Overall I certainly hope that there are more events like this as it provides an enjoyable medium for community members to connect and for people such as myself to get a better handle on the concerns and happenings within our wonderful municipality.
